But certain precautions should be taken to avoid recurrence of to nail infection: * Your shower mat should be washed with hot water regularly. * Use or spray anti-fungal powder in the shoes. * Make sure that your shoes are dry. * Change shoe soles on a regular basis. * Keep your shoes in a cool and dry place * See to it that your shoes are not too tight and allow air circulation. * Wear sandals in gym's locker room and don't walk barefoot. * Don't keep your shoes in gym locker as it does not allow air to circulate. * You should use anti-perspirant spray if your feet sweat a lot. * You should not cut your nails too short. This increases the possibility of getting a fungal infection. * Toenails that are too long may cause bleeding and leads to fungal infection. You should have your options open to cure your toe nail infection. Adequate precaution is a must to avoid any complications and recurrence.
